We are excited to announce a new call from TerraViva — Eliava Bazaar Competition! This is a new international challenge inviting architects from all around the world to rethink the unique and lively complex of Eliava Market, intertwining commerce and culture, located in the heart of Tbilisi, Georgia. If this all sounds exciting to you, do not forget Toffu users receive a special 20% discount with the code TOFFUXEBZ. When you register, you will get the Eliava Bazaar Competition Kit completely free! 👀
Nestled within the streets of Tbilisi, Eliava Market is more than a commercial center—it’s a space where livelihoods, and the community have been forming for decades. However, with recent discussions about relocating the market, concerns have arisen among vendors and locals about preserving its historical and cultural significance.
‘‘The heart of the matter rests in preserving Eliava’s existing location, a place steeped in the city’s narrative and cherished by generations. Conserving its essence isn’t just about finding a solution to immediate concerns but safeguarding a cornerstone of Tbilisi’s cultural identity.’’
TerraViva asks participants to preserve Eliava’s cultural essence while reimagining its layout, improving traffic flow, and creating flexible spaces. Participants are encouraged to introduce green spaces and think about the biodiversity and rethink individual shops to enhance the overall user experience.
This is a chance to work on one of Tbilisi’s most vibrant landmarks! We are excited to see your creative visions. ✨
