Jody Teo, Festival Director of Singapore Design Week 2024 says:
“We invite all groups and communities to join us in Singapore and participate in the wide range of specially curated programmes. Through being at this year’s festival, we hope everyone will gain a deeper appreciation for the role of design and be inspired to bring larger design outcomes to the fore.”
Since 2014, SDW has the vision to bridge design, business, and public policy. This year, with over 200 designers and more than 70 events spread across 10 days, Singapore Design Week: People of Design will be one of Asia’s most significant design festivals.
It will feature three important sections: Design Futures Forum, Design Marketplace, and Design Impact. Let's get into each of these in more detail.
- Design Futures Forum
This section will be exploring the future of design through Singapore’s forward-looking lens. It will feature thought-provoking presentations, engaging panel discussions and interactive hands-on sessions, encouraging participants to enact innovation and change.
- Design Marketplace
This section will be showcasing the latest design and lifestyle trends internationally, with a special focus on Southeast Asia.
- Design Impact
Design Impact will be inspiring the visitors with innovative and effective design solutions that address society’s biggest questions.
The Future Impact 2: Homecoming Showcase, the main event of this section, was first exhibited at Milan Design Week 2024, featuring seven designers: Christian+Jade, David Lee, Faezah Shaharuddin, Gabriel Tan, Genevieve Ang and Interactive Materials Lab, Tiffany Loy, and Zavier Wong.
