Norman Foster Foundation Kharkiv Housing Challenge

Norman Foster Foundation Kharkiv Housing Challenge

Kharkiv, Ukraine's second-largest city on the border with Russia, has been heavily impacted by the ongoing conflict. As part of the larger Kharkiv Masterplan project, this competition invites designers from around the world to come up with innovative solutions for retrofitting existing concrete panel housing blocks and enhancing public spaces.

The goal is to create safe, energy-efficient, and vibrant neighborhoods.

Participants will have the opportunity to see their ideas come to life, impacting Kharkiv’s recovery and resilience. Selected proposals will be developed into detailed designs for construction, with teams collaborating with locals under a funded plan.

This is a unique challenge to creatively shape Kharkiv’s future. For more information, check out here.
