Zellige or Zellij is a style of traditional Moroccan mosaic tilework. Each piece is hand-chiseled and is therefore unique. This technique is characterized by variations in tones, shapes, and colours and is a part of Moroccan culture, tradition, and history. These patterns were made as an homage to the artisans who spend decades learning this technique and still practise it today.
